Turkey’s Kuzey Star Shipyard on Friday launched an LNG-powered RoRo ship being built for Russia’s Rosmorport.
The 200 meters long vessel is the biggest ever launched from a slipway in Turkey, according to the yard.
Furthermore, the vessel Marshal Rokossovsky will be the first LNG-powered RoRo in Russia, it said.
The Arc4 class dual-fuel ship will be able to run both on LNG and diesel fuel.
Once delivered, the vessel will operate in the Baltic Sea transporting Russian railway trains and other cargoes such as dangerous goods.
It will serve the Ust-Luga – port Baltiysk line.
The vessel is the first out of two under the Project CNF19M designed by Marine Engineering Bureau.
Both of the vessels are being built in a cooperation with Russia’s Nevsky Shipyard and Kuzey Star.
