Another US LNG cargo lands at Croatian FSRU

Croatia’s FSRU-based LNG import facility on the island of Krk has received another shipment from the US, the terminal’s second for this year.

State-owned operator LNG Croatia said the 174,000-cbm Sean Spirit arrived at the 140,000-cbm FSRU on Thursday.

It did not provide any additional information.

The 2018-built vessel, owned by Seapeak and chartered by BP, previously loaded the cargo at the Freeport LNG terminal in the US, its AIS data provided by VesselsValue shows.

Prior to this shipment, the Croatian FSRU also received a cargo from the Freeport facility, the first of 2022.

Including this most recent shipment, the Croatian FSRU received 13 US LNG cargoes and 21 in total since the start of operations on January 1, 2021.

The unit received two cargoes from Qatar and Nigeria, each, and one each from Trinidad and Tobago and Egypt. The FSRU took one cargo each from the Zeebrugge and Dunkirk facilities as well.

Croatia’s first LNG terminal has the capacity to send up to 2.6 bcm per year of natural gas into the national grid.

MET, Hungary’s MFGK, and Qatar’s PowerGlobe have booked almost all of the volumes at the Krk facility for the next two years.
