Gasum expanding LNG network in Sweden

Gasum is to open another liquefied natural gas filling station for trucks in Sweden boosting the total number to twelve.

The firm will launch the latest station located in Tuve on September 3. The station is located close to Volvo trucks’ factory.

Gasum is investing in the construction of around 50 filling stations for heavy-duty vehicles in Finland, Sweden and Norway.

Switching from diesel to either liquefied biogas (LBG) or LNG will have a “significant impact” in reducing carbon dioxide and nitrogen oxide, according to the firm.

LNG-powered heavy-duty vehicles provide the same performance and driving comfort as diesel models.

With one refueling, an LNG-powered vehicle can run up to 1,600 km, Gasum says.
