Wartsila delivers Dynagas FSRU modules to Hudong

A unit of Finland’s Wartsila has delivered three regasifcation modules to state-owned Chinese shipbuilder Hudong-Zhonghua.

Hudong’s Shanghai yard will install the modules on the newbuild 174,000-cbm FSRU Transgas Force being built for Greek shipping company Dynagas.

Wartsila Gas Solutions said it delivered the equipment on schedule and budget despite the technical challenges related to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The three regasification modules weigh 450, 80, and 240 tonnes, respectively, it said.

To remind, CSSC’s Hudong launched the first sister vessel in this batch, also featuring Wartsila modules, earlier this year.

The 294 meters long FSRUs Transgas Power and Transgas Force will both be capable of operating as LNG carriers.

Each regas unit will have a capacity of 250 million standard cubic feet per day. The rated send-out capacity is about 500 million standard cubic feet per day.

Furthermore, the FSRUs feature a powerful MAN dual-fuel diesel-electric propulsion and GTT’s NO96 containment system.

Dynagas expects to take delivery of both of the vessels in 2021.
