Petrobras in Guanara Bay FSRU record

Brazil’s Petrobras said it has concluded tests at the Guanara Bay FSRU in Rio de Janeiro that will allow a capacity expansion of the facility.

The regas terminal consists of an island type pier with two berths. These are for mooring and anchoring Exclerate’s FSRU and a supply vessel, in cross jetty configuration.

Petrobras says that it achieved an flowrate of 30 millions of cubic meters per day during the tests. This marks a new world record for regasification using FSRU, the Brazilian giant claims.

Furthermore, this test was one of the requirements of the authorization process to expand the facility with the competent authorities.

The authorities include the State Environmental Institute (INEA) and the National Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels Agency (ANP).

The energy aims to expand the facilities capacity from 20 to 30 MM m³/day.
