Another US LNG cargo lands at Croatia’s Krk terminal

Croatia’s FSRU-based LNG import terminal on the northern Adriatic island of Krk has received another cargo from the US.

State-owned operator LNG Croatia said the 2015-built, 162,000-cbm BW Pavilion Leeara had arrived at the 140,000-cbm FSRU on Sunday.

LNG Croatia did not reveal the source of the newest shipment.

This LNG carrier, owned by a joint venture consisting of BW LNG and Pavilion Energy, previously loaded the cargo at Cheniere’s Corpus Christi plant in the US, according to its AIS data provided by VesselsValue.

The vessel delivered the Krk terminal’s 28th shipment since the start of operations in January 2021.

Prior to this shipment, the FSRU received a cargo from the Cove Point facility in the US.

This new delivery marks the 20th US LNG cargo for the Croatian facility, according to shipping data compiled by LNG Prime.

The FSRU also received cargoes from Qatar, Nigeria, Egypt, Trinidad, and reloads from Dunkirk and Zeebrugge.

The Croatian government recently said that LNG Croatia had managed to raise the capacity of the terminal from 2.6 billion cubic meters of gas to 2.9 bcm per year without new investment.

Neighbor Slovenia plans to book these new capacities.
