CMA CGM’s flagship LNG-powered giant containership Jacques Saade marked the fourth call on its maiden voyage with a stopover in China’s Yantian.

The 23,000 TEU containership arrived at the Yantian container terminal on October 7 and departed the next day as it continues its voyage between Asia and Northern Europe.

To remind, Jacques Saade left Hudong-Zhonghua’s yard in Shanghai on September 23.

This was the ship’s last call in China before its arrival in Singapore on Sunday, and her subsequent departure for Europe via the Suez Canal.

Its shipping schedule shows it is expected to arrive in Rotterdam on November 8.

Following arrival in Rotterdam, the giant containership will start bunkering LNG from the MOL-owned and Total-chartered Gas Agility.

Worth mentioning here, the duo officially named the world’s largest LNG bunkering vessel in the Dutch port last month.

CSSC’s Hudong and Jiangnan Shipyard are building in total nine 23,000 TEU LNG-powered sister vessels for the French container shipping group.

All of the containerships will be 400 meters long and 61 meters wide, making them them the world’s largest vessels powered by LNG.

Hudong also built Gas Agility that will fuel all of these vessels from its base in Rotterdam.
