Shell launches first LNG station in Poland

Energy giant Shell is continuing to invest in LNG as fuel for road transport with the opening of its first station in Poland.

The Polish station in Bielany Wrocławskie, southeast of Wrocław, joins 21 other Shell LNG refueling sites for trucks in Europe.

The site accommodates 31.5 tonnes of LNG, which has the capacity to fill 120–150 trucks daily, according to Shell.

Furthermore, Shell is planning several more LNG stations for heavy duty transport in Poland but also throughout Europe.

The Hague-based firm is building a network of LNG stations in Europe as part of the BioLNG EuroNet consortium.

The consortium will build in total 39 LNG refueling sites in Poland, Germany, Netherlands, Belgium, France, and Spain.
