Chart books order for Corpus Christi LNG expansion project

US equipment manufacturer Chart Industries said it has booked an order for the expansion project at Cheniere’s Corpus Christi LNG export plant in Texas.

Cheniere announced on June 22 it took a final investment decision on Stage 3 expansion at the 15 mtpa LNG export plant. The firm will add up to seven midscale trains with a total production capacity of more than 10 mtpa.

Following the decision, Cheniere also issued full notice to proceed to Bechtel to continue construction on CCL Stage 3, which began earlier this year under limited notice to proceed.

Chart said in a statement on Thursday it received full notice to proceed for the expansion project from Bechtel for its IPMSR process and equipment activities.

In conjunction with the FNTP, Chart booked an order valued at over $260 million, which is in addition to the some $50 million already in backlog as of March 31, 2022 for this project, it said.

Chart added it would begin recognizing revenue on this project in 2022 with a multi-year staggered delivery schedule.
