New CEO takes helm at France’s Elengy

Nelly Nicoli has started her role as chief executive officer of French LNG import terminal operator, Elengy, a unit of Engie’s GRTgaz.

Elengy said in a statement last week that its board of directors had agreed to appoint Nicoli as CEO, starting June 1, 2022.

Nicoli succeeds Sandra Roche-Vu Quang who has taken up another position within Engie. She held the role of Elengy’s CEO from June 1, 2019.

With a degree in political science, and after having spent some time in the USA, Nicoli worked for TotalGaz and in the consulting business before joining Engie, the statement said.

Prior to joining Elengy, Nelly was managing director of Engie Solutions’ Global Facilities Management entity, in charge of major client accounts in the private and public sectors, Elengy said.

Elengy operates the Fos Tonkin and Fos Cavaou LNG terminals on the Mediterranean coast, and the Montoir-de-Bretagne facility on the Atlantic coast.

Last year, 203 ships called at these LNG facilities, while Elengy injected some 130.3 TWh into the grid.

During the first quarter of this year, Elengy’s terminals achieved 92 percent utilization rate, the second-highest in Elengy’s history.

Elengy said the terminals unloaded 64 LNG cargoes during the quarter.
