Peru LNG sent five cargoes in June

Peru LNG’s 4.45 mtpa liquefaction plant at Pampa Melchorita has shipped five cargoes in June, the same as in the prior month, according to state-owned Perupetro.

Perupetro said that all of the shipments in June were sent to the UK.

However, at least two out of these five shipments changed their course in the meantime.

The 173,400-cbm Maran Gas Roxana, which left the LNG plant on June 8, was on Tuesday sailing in the Indian Ocean, off Madagascar, its AIS data provided by VesselsValue shows.

In addition, the 135,423-cbm Madrid Spirit changed its course last week in the South Atlantic Ocean, off Brazil. The vessel will probably take the similar route as Maran Gas Roxana around South Africa to deliver the cargo to a customer in Asia.

The five Peru LNG cargoes in June totaled about 335,203 tonnes of LNG, Perupetro’s data shows.

This compares to three LNG cargoes in June last year, and five cargoes in May totaling about 363,836 tonnes of LNG.

In total, the plant sent 678 LNG cargoes since 2010, the data shows.

US-based Hunt Oil holds a 50 percent operating stake in the Pampa Melchorita LNG plant, while SK and Marubeni have 20 percent and 10 percent, respectively.

LNG giant Shell also holds a 20 percent stake and takes all the volumes produced at the facility.
