Croatian FSRU receives two US LNG cargoes in a week

State-owned terminal operator LNG Croatia has received two LNG cargoes from the US in a week at the FSRU-based Krk import facility, according to shipping data.

LNG Croatia said in a short statement earlier this week that the 173,400-cbm BW Pavilion Aranda had docked at the 140,000-cbm FSRU on July 2, but it did not reveal any additional information.

In a separate statement on Thursday, the LNG terminal operator said the FSRU had welcomed its 34h LNG cargo since the start of operations in January last year. The 174,000 cbm LNG Endurance brought this shipment to Krk.

According to its AIS data provided by VesselsValue, the 2021-built carrier LNG Endurance, owned by NYK and Geogas LNG and chartered by TotalEnergies, previously picked up the cargo at Cheniere’s Sabine Pass facility in Louisiana.

The data also shows that the 2019-built BW Pavilion Aranda, owned by BW LNG and chartered by Pavilion, delivered its shipment from Sempra’s Cameron LNG plant in Louisiana.

Croatia’s FSRU mostly gets supplies from the US and recently also received two cargoes from the US in a week.

The terminal boosted its capacity earlier this year from 2.6 billion cubic meters of gas to 2.9 bcm per year without new investment.

Croatia is also nearing a decision to further increase the capacity of its FSRU-based LNG import terminal, as European countries look to slash reliance on Russian gas.

The country plans to even double the regasification capacity of the terminal to some 6.1 bcm.
