Norwegian shipping firm Eidesvik Offshore has secured a contract from compatriot energy firm Aker BP for its LNG-powered PSV Viking Prince.
Eidesvik said in a statement on Friday the deal, awarded under the companies’ frame agreement, would last for three years.
The dual-fueled, 2012-built PSV would start the new contract with Aker BP after its current charter with Equinor expires, it said.
Eidesvik did not provide any additional information regarding the contract.
The LNG-powered vessel received a battery hybrid system and a shore power system in January this year.
Last year, Eidesvik also won a charter contract with Aker BP for Viking Prince.
According to Eidesvik’s website, the offshore vessel owner has five LNG-powered PSVs in its fleet.
