US LNG exports continue to climb, Henry Hub logs record

The US exported sixteen LNG cargoes in the week ending October 28 while feed gas deliveries to liquefaction plants increased to 9.0 billion cubic feet.

Compared to the last week, natural gas deliveries to US LNG export plants increased some 1.1 Bcf/d while shipments were higher for two cargoes, EIA said in its weekly natural gas report.

Six US terminals dispatched the sixteen cargoes during the week October 22-28. The total capacity of LNG vessels carrying these cargoes is 58 Bcf, EIA said citing Marine Traffic shipping data.

This compares to fourteen LNG cargoes with the vessels’ capacity of 51 Bcf in the week before.

Cheniere’s Sabine Pass plant sent seven cargoes in the week under review while its Corpus Christi plant dispatched two.

Additionally, the Cameron terminal shipped three cargoes while Freeport dispatched two cargoes of the fuel.

Cove Point and Elba Island sent one US LNG cargo each during the observed week.

Compared to the previous week, the Henry Hub spot price rose from a low of $2.86/MMBtu last Wednesday to $3.06/MMBtu two days ago.

According to EIA, this marked the highest spot price since March 2019.
