Excelerate wraps up FSRU fleet management transition

US-based floating LNG player Excelerate Energy has completed the transition of its fleet of FSRUs to its management subsidiary.

Excelerate Technical Management now manages a fleet of ten FSRUs.

To remind, Excelerate started transitioning its fleet in February with the FSRU Experience.

This happened after the Marshall Islands and Belgium awarded interim documents of compliance under the international safety management code to ETM.

Furthermore, Excelerate completed the transition of the tenth and final FSRU Excellence on October 28.

Excelerate plans to repaint its vessels in the corporate brand colors and design as each FSRU undergoes maintenance and upgrades.

“Congratulations to our ship management team overseeing this effort and the 600 plus seafarers that supported,” said Steven Kobos, chief executive of Excelerate.

He added that transitioning 10 ships in 10 months is a “tremendous” accomplishment in any year, but especially in 2020.
