DSME selects TMC compressors for GasLog’s LNG carrier quartet

South Korea’s Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering has contracted Norwegian firm TMC Compressors to supply a complete marine compressed air system to four LNG carriers ordered by Greece’s GasLog.

TMC said in a statement it would deliver three control and service air compressors to each of the four LNG carriers.

In addition, TMC would provide feed air compressors to the vessels’ N2 (nitrogen) system, it said.

TMC said it would manufacture the equipment in the Nordic region and ship it to DSME in Korea.

The firm did not reveal the price tag of the deal.

Peter Livanos-led GasLog ordered these four 174,000-cbm LNG carriers at DSME last year.

The vessels will also feature a carbon capture and storage system.

GasLog will take delivery of these ships in 2024 and 2025.
