GTT books new LNG tank gig from Hyundai Samho

French LNG containment giant GTT has won a new order from South Korea’s Hyundai Heavy Industries to design tanks for two LNG carriers.

According to a GTT statement, the 174,000-cbm LNG carriers would feature its Mark III Flex membrane containment system.

GTT added that HSHI plans to deliver the vessels to a European company during the first and third quarters of 2026, but it did not provide any additional information.

This order is probably related to an announcement by HSHI’s parent KSOE issued on July 7.

KSOE said that HSHI would build two 174,000-cbm LNG carriers for an owner in Oceania and deliver them by August 2026.

Each of the LNG carriers has a price tag of about $245 million.

Greece-based shipping firm TMS Cardiff Gas is behind this order for two LNG carriers.
