TotalEnergies inks LNG supply deal with Singapore’s Sembcorp

France’s TotalEnergies, one of the world’s largest LNG players, has signed a deal with Sembcorp Industries to supply the latter with liquefied natural gas.

According to a social media post by Sembcorp on Tuesday, the two firms signed the LNG supply agreement on October 4.

Chiap Khiong Koh, Semcorp’s CEO for Singapore and Southeast Asia, and Thomas Maurisse, senior VP LNG at TotalEnergies, signed the deal.

“Leveraging our core capabilities in gas import and retail in Singapore, Sembcorp is partnering TotalEnergies to import an LNG supply strip from the multi-energy company’s global portfolio for five years starting from 2025,” the firm said.

Sembcorp firm did not reveal any additional information.

Last year, Singapore’s Energy Market Authority appointed Sembcorp Fuels, a unit of Sembcorp, as a new term LNG importer for Singapore, allowing it to import and sell regasified LNG to customers in the market.

This appointment enables Sembcorp to augment its offer of a diverse portfolio of energy generation sources and supplies in Singapore that includes LNG, piped natural gas, biomass, waste, as well as solar.
