US liquefied natural gas (LNG) exports reached 16 cargoes in the week ending November 30 while the Henry Hub spot price rose when compared to the last week, according to the Energy Information Administration.
The EIA said in its weekly natural gas report that the total capacity of these 16 vessels, which left US plants during November 24 and November 30, is 59 Bcf.
The agency did not release the LNG shipment data last week. There were 22 shipments in the week between November 10 and November 16.
Natural gas deliveries to US LNG export facilities averaged 11.6 Bcf/d, or 0.5 Bcf/d lower than last week, according to the EIA.
Cheniere’s Sabine Pass plant shipped seven cargoes and its Corpus Christi facility sent three shipments.
Sempra’s Cameron LNG sent three shipments while Venture Global LNG’s Calcasieu Pass terminal dispatched two cargoes and Cove Point LNG one cargo, the EIA said, citing shipping data by Bloomberg Finance.
Freeport LNG did not ship any cargoes as it remains shut following an incident at the facility that took place on June 8.
The operator of the LNG terminal is still working to restart operations at its 15 mtpa LNG export plant in Texas and expects to bring back online the facility this month.
Henry Hub up
This report week, the Henry Hub spot rose 34 cents from $6.46 per million British thermal units (MMBtu) last Wednesday to $6.80/MMBtu this Wednesday, the agency said.
Moreover, the December 2022 NYMEX contract expired Monday at $6.712/MMBtu, down 60 cents from last Wednesday.
The January 2023 NYMEX contract price decreased to $6.930/MMBtu, down 78 cents from last Wednesday to this Wednesday.
According to the agency, the price of the 12-month strip averaging January 2023 through December 2023 futures contracts declined 15 cents to $5.709/MMBtu.
TTF climbs
The EIA said that international natural gas futures prices rose this report week.
Bloomberg Finance reported that weekly average futures prices for LNG cargoes in East Asia increased $2.95 to a weekly average of $31.01/MMBtu.
Natural gas futures for delivery at the Dutch TTF increased $4.07 to a weekly average of $40.01/MMBtu, the agency said.
