GTT bags new LNG tank gig from Hyundai Samho

French LNG containment giant GTT has won a new order from South Korea’s Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries to design tanks for two LNG carriers.

GTT said in a statement it had received the order at the beginning of this year.

The 174,000-cbm LNG carriers will feature GTT’s Mark III Flex membrane containment system.

GTT added that HSHI plans to deliver the vessels to a Middle East shipowner in the second quarter of 2026, but it did not provide any additional information.

This contract is probably related to the two LNG carriers Oman’s Asyad Shipping recently booked at HSHI.

Each of these two LNG carriers will cost about $250.5 million and HSHI will deliver them by June 2026.

KSOE and its units HSHI and Hyundai Heavy have started the year with in total five LNG carrier orders.

These include the three 200,000-cbm LNG carriers for Dynagas and two 174,000-cbm LNG tankers for Capital Gas.
