South Korean shipbuilder Hyundai Heavy Industries has awarded a new contract to French LNG containment giant GTT to design tanks for three 200,000-cbm LNG carriers.
According to a GTT statement, the LNG carriers would feature its Mark III Flex+ membrane containment system.
GTT added that HHI plans to deliver the vessels between the second and the fourth quarters of 2026 to a European owner, but it did not provide any additional information.
This contract is probably related to a recent order HHI’s parent KSOE announced for three 200,000-cbm vessels.
KSOE said that the contract is worth about $783 million or $261 million per vessel and that the LNG carriers would be 299.8 meters long and 48.9 meters wide.
Greece’s Dynagas placed this order for the three LNG carriers.
Dynagas also ordered four 200,000-cbm LNG carriers at Hyundai Heavy in 2021 and three 200,000-cbm vessels last year.
