Hoegh Giant FSRU picked for H-Energy’s Jaigarh project in India

Norway’s Höegh LNG will provide its Hoegh Giant FSRU for H-Energy’s delayed import project in Jaigarh, India.

H-Energy said it had entered into a binding commitment with Hoegh to charter the FSRU for a 10-year term, with delivery of the vessel scheduled for the first quarter of 2021.

To remind, Hoegh revealed this deal in November but it did not pick the vessel only saying it would allocate one of its available FSRUs currently trading in the LNG carrier market for the project.

The 2017-built Höegh Giant has a storage capacity of 170,000 cbm and a peak regasification capacity of 750 mmscfd.

The FSRU will deliver regasified LNG to the 56 km Jaigarh-Dabhol pipeline connecting to the national bas grid.

Besides this, Hoegh Giant may also be a hub for small scale opportunities as H-Energy will deliver LNG onshore for truck loading facilities.

The FSRU is also capable of reloading LNG onto other vessel’s for providing bunkering services.

Upon the delivery of the vessel, Hirandani’s H-Energy said it plans to commission its Jaigarh LNG terminal in March 2021.
