French LNG containment giant GTT has won a new order from South Korea’s Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries.

Under the contract, GTT will design the tanks of three LNG carriers with a capacity of 174,000 cbm.

Accordingt to a GTT statement, the vessels will feature GTT’s Mark III Flex membrane containment system.

GTT added that HSHI plans to deliver the LNG carriers to an Asian shipowner between the fourth quarter of 2026 and the fourth quarter of 2027, but it did not provide any additional information.

This deal is probably related to a recent contract HSHI’s parent KSOE announced for three LNG carriers worth about $765 million.

KSOE said that HSHI will deliver these vessels to an undisclosed North American owner by December 2027.

Shipbuilding sources told LNG Prime at the time that Japan’s shipping giant NYK is the owner behind this order.
