Peru LNG shipped four cargoes in May

Peru LNG’s 4.45 mtpa liquefaction plant at Pampa Melchorita has shipped four cargoes in May, two shipments less when compared to the month before, according to state-owned Perupetro.

Perupetro’s data shows that two shipments were sent to Spain and one each to the UK and China.

The shipments loaded onboard the LNG carriers Bilbao Knutsen, Kool Boreas, LNG Abalamabie, and Methane Princess equal about 273,339 tonnes.

This compares to six cargoes and about 399,893 tonnes in April this year, while Peru LNG sent five cargoes, or about 363,836 tonnes, in May 2022.

Peru LNG shipped 25 LNG cargoes during January-May, compared to 27 shipments during the same period last year, according to the data.

In total, the LNG plant sent 722 LNG cargoes since 2010, the data shows.

US-based Hunt Oil holds a 50 percent operating stake in the Pampa Melchorita LNG plant, while SK and Marubeni have 20 percent and 10 percent, respectively.

LNG giant Shell also holds a 20 percent stake and takes all the volumes produced at the facility.
