GTT secures LNG tank gig from Hyundai Heavy

French LNG containment giant GTT has secured a new order from South Korea’s HD Hyundai Heavy Industries to design tanks for four LNG carriers.

According to a GTT statement, the 174,000-cbm LNG carriers will feature its Mark III Flex membrane containment system.

GTT added that HHI plans to deliver the vessels between the first and third quarters of 2027 to an Asian owner, but it did not provide any additional information.

This contract is probably related to a recent order for four LNG carriers by Japan’s NYK.

These four vessels have a price tag of 1.408 trillion won ($1.05 billion) or some $262 million per ship.

The French-flagged ships will have about 289.9 meters in length and 46.1 meters in breadth.

Following delivery in 2027, these LNG carriers will serve German energy firm EnBW under long-term time charter deals.
