Titan bunkers ESL Shipping’s LNG-powered bulker in Rotterdam

Dutch Titan LNG said it completed its first bunkering operation for an LNG-powered bulk carrier at the PWA quay in the Port of Rotterdam.

The firm’s FlexFueler bunkering barge delivered the fuel to ESL Shipping’s LNG-powered dry cargo vessel Haaga.

Haaga and its sister ship Viikki are both working in the Baltic Sea. The vessels are part of the Bothnia Bulk project, partly funded by the EU.

Titan says it supports the growth of LNG shipping as a “pathway to a low-carbon future.”

“We are pleased to work alongside our suppliers, partners and customers in supporting the expansion of LNG bunkering in the ARA region,” the firm said in a statement.

Worth mentioning here, Titan recently, along with partner Fluxys, welcomed the FlexFueler 002 in its fleet. This vessel will work in the Antwerp port and region.

This is the second barge for Titan LNG and identical to FlexFueler 001, which already works in the Netherlands and the region.
