GTT nets new LNG tank job from Hudong-Zhonghua

French LNG containment giant GTT has secured a new order from Chinese shipbuilder Hudong-Zhonghua.

According to a GTT statement, the firm received the order in the second quarter and will design the tanks of two 174,000-cbm LNG carriers.

The tanks will be fitted with GTT’s NO96 L03+ membrane containment system

GTT added that Hudong-Zhonghua plans to deliver the vessels between the fourth quarter of 2025 and the first quarter of 2026 to an Asian owner, but it did not provide any additional information.

This contract is probably related to a recent order for two LNG carriers by Cosco Shipping Energy Transportation and PetroChina.

United Liquefied Gas Shipping, a joint venture majority-owned by Cosco Shipping Energy and partner PetroChina will own these two LNG carriers, such as the previous six vessels that were ordered at Hudong-Zhonghua.
