Eni, Snam and CDP plan LNG stations as part of a new deal

Italian energy firms Eni and Snam have teamed up with investment bank Cassa Depositi e Prestiti to work on several projects aimed at slashing emissions.

The trio said in statement they have signed a letter of intent to jointly carry out integrated projects along the entire value chain in key sectors for the energy transition.

This includes developing the production, transportation and marketing of green hydrogen but the use of hydrogen in rail transport.

Additionally, the trio will collaborate to create multifunctional CNG, LNG and hydrogen refuelling stations.

Moreover, they plan to develop the necessary infrastructure to guarantee the supply of LNG throughout the country for land and sea transportation.

The deal is part of a broader commitment to help reach European targets for cutting carbon emissions by 55% by 2030, they said.
