Third LNG carrier joins Alpha Gas fleet

Greece-based Alpha Gas has welcomed another LNG carrier in its fleet and now has three vessels in operation.

The 173,400-cbm Energy Endeavour left South Korea’s Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering yard in Okpo on January 1.

This is the second newbuild carrier to join Alpha Gas fleet since the delivery of the Energy Pacific in September 2020.

Alpha Gas has in total four sister vessel on order at DSME and expects to take delivery of the two remaining LNG newbuilds by the second quarter this year.

Furthermore, they all feature MAN B&W ME-GI engines, a reliquefication system, and GTT’s NO96 cargo containment.

Besides these newbuilds, the Greek firm owns the 2015-built 159,881-cbm Energy Atlantic that mainly ships LNG from Cheniere’s Sabine Pass and Corpus Christi facilities in the US.

Alpha Gas did not reveal the charterers for the two newbuilds, if any.
