Poland’s PGNiG imports another cargo via Lithuanian small-scale facility

Poland’s dominant gas firm and LNG importer PGNiG has received another cargo at the small-scale reloading station in the Lithuanian port of Klaipeda.

The bunkering and supply vessel Kairos, operated by Germany’s Nauticor, delivered about 3000 cubic meters of LNG to the Klaipedos Nafta reloading station on Wednesday, according to PGNiG.

Prior to arriving in Lithuania, the 7,500-cbm vessel loaded the fuel in Norway.

Furthermore, this marked the fourth LNG shipment for the Polish state-run firm since it started using the small-scale facility located at the entrance to the Klaipeda port.

Previous deliveries landed in June, August and November 2020.

PGNiG is the only user of the Klaipeda facility. The firm in total loaded more than 4,000 tons of LNG into 250 trucks for onward delivery to its customers, it said.

The reloading station has five tanks with a total capacity of 5,000 cbm of LNG.

It also features two loading stations for LNG trucks and ISO containers but also a jetty capable of receiving and also loading LNG.
