Elengy boosts truck loading capacity at Fos Cavaou LNG terminal

French LNG terminal operator Elengy, a unit of Engie’s GRTgaz, has increased the truck loading capacity at its Fos Cavaou terminal on France’s Mediterranean coast.

Elengy said in a statement issued on Tuesday it has launched two new truck loading bays at the LNG terminal near Marseille.

The new loading bays at Fos Cavaou join the two existing ones, thus doubling the terminal’s loading capacity to 22,000 slots per year, it said.

According to Elengy, the firm invested 10 million euros ($10.8 million) in these two new facilities.

With this commissioning, Elengy continues to develop its infrastructure to provide access to LNG for road transport that started in 2013, with the road tanker loading bays at the Montoir-de-Bretagne and Fos terminals.

These facilities allowed a total of 70,000 tanker trucks loading operations to be carried out over the past ten years, it said.

Since 2023, Elengy offers the transport service by rail of ISO containers at the two Fos terminals.

Elengy also recently launched a new small-scale LNG carrier loading service at its Fos Tonkin terminal.
