US firm Chart Industries said it has received an order to provide equipment for the second phase of Venture Global’s Plaquemines LNG export project in Louisiana.
Chart said in a statement on Tuesday it has booked the equipment order worth $45 million from Baker Hughes.
This order is for the production of six brazed aluminum heat exchanger assemblies (BAHX) and cold boxes.
These are the first six of the anticipated 18 BAHX assemblies and cold boxes for the full 10 mtpa Plaquemines Phase 2 facility, it said.
Chart did not provide any additional information.
This deal follows a recent announcement related to the project’s first phase when Chart received full notice to proceed for the production of cold boxes and brazed aluminum heat exchangers.
Plaquemines LNG will deploy Venture Global’s liquefaction trains identical to the units at its Calcasieu Pass project.
It would have up to thirty-six 0.626 mtpa liquefaction trains, configured in eighteen blocks.
The first phase includes a capacity of 10 mtpa while the full project would have 20 mtpa capacity, four tanks, and three jetties.
Venture Global aims to take formal FID on Plaquemines LNG “soon” and close project financing.
Also, the company sold 14 million tonnes of the 20 mtpa nameplate capacity and expects to
announce contracts for the remaining capacity “in the coming weeks”.
