Cheniere, the owner of the Sabine Pass and Corpus Christi LNG terminals, said on Tuesday that it has appointed Benjamin Moreland to serve as a member of the board, effective January 21, 2025.
Moreland is considered an independent director and has been appointed to the audit and compensation committees.
According to Cheniere, Moreland is a private investor and retired chief executive officer of Crown Castle, a provider of wireless infrastructure in the US, where he served in a variety of leadership roles since joining in 1999, including executive vice chairman, president, and chief financial officer.
“Ben’s decades of relevant experience leading large, complex organizations and serving on boards across industries will complement and enhance the perspectives of our board for the benefit of our stakeholders,” said G. Andrea Botta, Cheniere’s chairman of the board.
Exclerate appointment
Exclelerate said in a separate statement it has appointed Nisha D. Biswal to its board of directors, effective January 21, 2025.
Biswal will serve on the audit and nominating and corporate governance committees.
Excelerate, whose fleet includes 11 FSRUs, said Biswal brings over 30 years of experience in US foreign policy and international economic development and trade programs, including in US government agencies, Congress, and the private sector.
Most recently, Biswal served as the deputy CEO of the US International Development Financial Corporation (DFC), overseeing the operations and strategy for a $60 billion government corporation financing private-sector-led global projects in energy, infrastructure, health, agriculture, and financial inclusion, the company said.
Steven Kobos, president and CEO of Excelerate said Biswal’s “extensive international background and experience guiding US investments in developing markets aligns well with Excelerate’s strategy and plans for growth.”
“Nisha also brings a wealth of experience specifically with respect to South Asia which represents approximately 20 percent of the world’s population and a growing source of demand for global LNG supply,” he said.
Biswal’s appointment follows the resignation of Carolyn J. Burke from the Excelerate board after nearly three years of service. Her resignation is effective January 21, 2025, and Paul Hanrahan will assume chairmanship of the compensation committee, Exclelerate said.
