Sempra Infrastructure’s unit Port Arthur LNG said in its monthly status report filed with FERC that construction-related activities during March 2026 included foundation construction, steel erection, above-ground/underground pipe installation, equipment setting and installation, marine berth dredging and slope stabilization, and permanent building construction.
During March, Port Arthur LNG continued south loading platform, breasting, and mooring dolphin construction activities, as well as mechanical dredging operations.
Port Arthur LNG also completed the installation of OSBL equipment.
Moreover, the company said that LNG tank construction continued, and it placed Tank A waterfall pipe rack (preassembled pipe rack).
During April, Port Arthur LNG will continue levee construction, South loading platform, breasting, and mooring dolphin construction activities, as well as mechanical dredging under the South loading platform.
Port Arthur LNG also aims to place LNG Tank A main platform and PRV platform, and place Tank B waterfall pipe rack.
The company noted that all new personnel on the project site underwent mandatory ES&H site-specific orientation training prior to commencing any tasks on-site.
In addition, supplementary ES&H training was provided to personnel based on their craft discipline, it said.
Last year, Bechtel released a report on an incident at the Port Arthur LNG construction site in Texas.
Bechtel has identified seven factors that together contributed to the incident, which resulted in three fatalities and two injuries.

In March 2023, Sempra Infrastructure, in which Sempra is reducing its ownership to 25 percent, took a final investment decision on the first phase of its Port Arthur LNG export project worth about $13 billion.
Bechtel won the $10.5 billion EPC contract, which includes building two trains with a total capacity of about 13 mtpa and two storage tanks with a capacity of 160,000 cbm.
The expected commercial operation dates for train 1 and train 2 are 2027 and 2028, respectively.
In addition, Sempra Infrastructure took FID on the second phase of the Port Arthur LNG project last year.
Including the first 13 mtpa phase, the facility will have a total capacity of about 26 mtpa.
The expected commercial operation dates for Train 3 and Train 4 are 2030 and 2031, respectively.
