Excelerate forms international advisory council

US floating LNG player Excelerate Energy said it had formed an international strategic advisory council consisting of international experts who provide advice to the company on global political, social, economic, and policy issues.

The council consists of practitioners in the fields of academia, diplomacy, energy and climate policy, and political-military affairs who bring a “wealth of experience” and outside perspectives to inform the company’s development strategy and decision making, according to a statement by Excelerate.

Moreover, the initial members of the council are Ambassador (ret.) Liliana Ayalde, Admiral (ret.) Craig Faller, Ambassador (ret.) Gerald Feierstein, Michał Kurtyka, Ambassador (ret.) Anne Patterson, and Angela Stent, the firm said.

“I am honored to name this distinguished group of subject matter experts and former public servants to Excelerate’s new international strategic advisory ouncil,” Excelerate’s CEO Steven Kobos said in the statement.

He added that the council members’ collective expertise and unique perspectives would enrich Excelerate’s decision making.

Earlier this month, Excelerate also appointed David Liner as its new chief operating officer, succeeding current COO Calvin Bancroft.

Also, Excelerate recently ordered one 170,000-cbm FSRU in South Korea and will pay about $332 million for the unit.

With this newbuild order, Excelerate will have 11 FSRUs in operation or under construction.
