Peru LNG sent five cargoes in February

LNG exports from Peru’s sole liquefaction plant remained steady in February with five cargoes leaving the facility at Pampa Melchorita, according to state-owned Perupetro.

Perupetro’s data shows that two shipments were sent to China and one each to the UK, Taiwan, and South Korea.

The shipments equal about 363,521 tonnes.

This compares to five cargoes and about 355,213 tonnes in January this year, while Peru LNG also sent five cargoes in February 2022.

In addition, Peru LNG shipped one LNG cargo to Japan and one shipment to China during March, according to the data.

In total, the 4.45 mtpa LNG plant sent 733 LNG cargoes since 2010, the data shows.

US-based Hunt Oil holds a 50 percent operating stake in the Pampa Melchorita LNG plant, while SK and Marubeni have 20 percent and 10 percent, respectively.

LNG giant Shell also holds a 20 percent stake and takes all the volumes produced at the facility.
