1) State-owned LNG giant QatarEnergy is progressing with commissioning activities at the first train of the North Field East LNG project in Qatar despite the ongoing Middle East crisis, according to EPC contractor Technip Energies.
2) US FSRU player Excelerate Energy confirmed that it has signed a seven-year charter agreement with a unit of Canadian firm Frontera Energy to deploy its FSRU to a new LNG import terminal under development in Colombia. Excelerate also confirmed that it purchased a TFDE LNG carrier to convert it to an FSRU.
3) Singapore’s Seatrium is looking at six to nine floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU) tenders, while the firm is also pursuing FLNG opportunities, according to CEO Chris Ong.
4) Belgium’s Exmar has signed a seven-year charter for the 2006-built LNG carrier Simaisma. The vessel will be modified to serve as a floating transshipment unit (FTU) for the LNG bunkering market.
5) LNG producer Nigeria LNG, a joint venture of NNPC, Shell, TotalEnergies, and Eni, is planning to add more liquefaction trains as it nears the completion of Train 7 at its Bonny Island plant, according to managing director and CEO Adeleye Falade.
