EIA said in its weekly report, citing shipping data provided by Bloomberg Finance, that the total capacity of these 34 LNG vessels is 129 Bcf.
This compares to 26 LNG vessels and 108 Bcf in the week ending September 3.
Natural gas deliveries drop
According to data from S&P Global Commodity Insights, average natural gas deliveries to US LNG export terminals decreased 0.1 Bcf/d from last week to 16 Bcf/d.
Natural gas deliveries to terminals in South Louisiana decreased by 1.4 percent (0.2 Bcf/d) to 11.1 Bcf/d, while natural gas deliveries to terminals in South Texas increased by 2.4 percent (0.1 Bcf/d) to 3.9 Bcf/d.
EIA said that natural gas deliveries to terminals outside the Gulf Coast remained essentially unchanged at 1.1 Bcf/d this week.
During the week under review, Cheniere’s Sabine Pass plant shipped eight LNG cargoes, and the company’s Corpus Christi facility sent five shipments.
Moreover, Venture Global LNG’s Plaquemines terminal shipped six cargoes, and the Freeport LNG terminal shipped five cargoes.
Sempra Infrastructure’s Cameron LNG terminal sent four cargoes, and Venture Global’s Calcasieu Pass facility sent three cargoes.
The Cove Point LNG facility sent two cargoes, and the Elba Island LNG facility shipped one cargo during the week under review.
Henry Hub down
EIA reported that the Henry Hub spot price fell 11 cents from $3 per million British thermal units (MMBtu) last Wednesday to $2.89/MMBtu this Wednesday.
The price of the October 2025 NYMEX contract decreased 4 cents, from $3.064/MMBtu last Wednesday to $3.029/MMBtu this Wednesday.
EIA said the price of the 12-month strip averaging October 2025 through September 2026 futures contracts declined 3 cents to $3.696/MMBtu.
TTF averaged $11.23/MMBtu
The agency said that international natural gas futures increased this week.
Bloomberg Finance reported that average front-month futures prices for LNG cargoes in East Asia increased 9 cents to a weekly average of $11.31/MMBtu.
Natural gas futures for delivery at the Title Transfer Facility (TTF) in the Netherlands increased 36 cents to a weekly average of $11.23/MMBtu.
In the same week last year (week ending September 11, 2024), the prices were $13.78/MMBtu in East Asia and $11.76/MMBtu at TTF, EIA said.
