EIA said in its weekly natural gas storage report that the LNG-carrying capacity of vessels departing US ports was 136 Bcf, up 1 Bcf from the previous week.
Cheniere’s Sabine Pass plant shipped eight LNG cargoes and the company’s Corpus Christi facility sent five shipments during the week ending June 24, according to the report.
Moreover, Venture Global LNG’s Plaquemines terminal sent seven cargoes and its Calcasieu Pass facility sent three cargoes.
The Freeport LNG facility sent six shipments and Sempra Infrastructure’s Cameron LNG terminal shipped four cargoes, while the Cove Point, the Elba Island facility, and the Golden Pass facility each sent one cargo during the week under review.
This is the third cargo Golden Pass LNG, a joint venture of QatarEnergy and ExxonMobil, exported from the first liquefaction train since April this year.
Henry Hub up
EIA reported that the Henry Hub spot price rose from $3.22/MMBtu last Wednesday to $3.33/MMBtu this Wednesday.
The agency said that the average monthly price for June was $3.15/MMBtu, with last Friday’s closing price marking the highest of the month ($3.35/MMBtu).
Total natural gas consumption increased by 1.7 Bcf/d (2 percent), all of which came from higher electric power sector demand (4 percent), according to LSEG data.
EIA said demand in other sectors remained largely unchanged this week.
Average temperatures were below normal across much of the West and slightly above normal across much of the Central United States.
The total US natural gas supply remained mostly unchanged for the second week in a row, averaging 117.7 Bcf/d, or 0.1 Bcf/d, more than last week, EIA said.
TTF averaged $14.04/MMBtu
EIA said that the price at the Dutch Title Transfer Facility in Europe averaged $14.03/MMBtu, 21 cents higher than the previous week.
Moreover, the Japan-Korea Marker (JKM) price averaged $15.76/MMBtu, 14 cents higher than the previous week.
Compared with the week ending February 25 (before LNG deliveries via the Strait of Hormuz were disrupted), this week’s TTF and JKM prices are up by 27 percent and 48 percent, respectively, EIA said.
