EIA said in its weekly natural gas storage report that the LNG-carrying capacity of vessels departing US ports was 133 Bcf, down 1 Bcf from the previous week.
Cheniere’s Sabine Pass plant shipped nine LNG cargoes, and the company’s Corpus Christi facility sent six shipments during the week ending April 29, according to the report.
Moreover, Venture Global LNG’s Plaquemines terminal sent seven cargoes, while the Freeport LNG facility sent five cargoes and Sempra Infrastructure’s Cameron LNG terminal shipped four cargoes.
Venture Global’s Calcasieu Pass facility shipped two cargoes, and the Cove Point facility and the Elba Island facility each sent one cargo during the week under review.
Henry Hub down
EIA reported that the Henry Hub spot price dropped by 16 cents from $2.76/MMBtu last Wednesday to $2.60/MMBtu this Wednesday.
The agency said that the Henry Hub reported a daily price of $2.53/MMBtu last Friday, which is the lowest close since November 2024.
Despite this, the Henry Hub price remains one of the highest of major US pricing hubs this week.
Total US demand for natural gas decreased by 2 percent (1.2 Bcf/d) compared with last week, according to LSEG data.
A 12 percent (1.9 Bcf/d) decrease in residential and commercial sector consumption drove this decrease while natural gas use in the electric power sector increased by 3 percent (0.9 Bcf/d).
EIA said the average total supply of natural gas fell 0.3 percent (0.3 Bcf/d) this week due to a decrease in dry production.
Domestic natural gas consumption has averaged 67 Bcf/d this April, indicative of shoulder period needs, according to LSEG data.
TTF averaged $15.41/MMBtu
EIA said that the price at the Dutch Title Transfer Facility in Europe averaged $15.41/MMBtu, $1.14 higher than the previous week.
Moreover, the Japan-Korea Marker price averaged $16.59/MMBtu, 93 cents higher than the previous week.
This week’s TTF and JKM prices were 40 percent and 56 percent higher, respectively, than prices for the week ending February 25, the last full week before the disruption of LNG deliveries through the Strait of Hormuz, EIA said.
