The agency said in its weekly report, citing shipping data provided by Bloomberg Finance, the total capacity of these 24 LNG vessels is 90 Bcf.
This compares to 21 shipments and 79 Bcf in the week ending July 24.
Natural gas deliveries to US terminals
Average natural gas deliveries to US LNG export terminals increased 1.4 Bcf/d from last week to 12.9 Bcf/d, according to data from S&P Global Commodity Insights.
Natural gas deliveries to terminals in South Louisiana were essentially unchanged at 7.7 Bcf/d, while natural gas deliveries to terminals in South Texas increased 56.6 percent (1.5 Bcf/d) to 4.1 Bcf/d.
Also, natural gas deliveries to terminals outside the Gulf Coast were essentially unchanged from last week at 1.1 Bcf/d, the agency said.
Freeport LNG, south of Houston, has restarted all three liquefaction trains on Sunday for the first time since July 7, the EIA said.
Freeport LNG, the operator of the 15 mtpa liquefaction plant in Texas, told LNG Prime on July 29 it has resumed operations at all of its three liquefaction trains after Hurricane Beryl.
During the week under review, Cheniere’s Sabine Pass plant shipped seven LNG cargoes and the company’s Corpus Christi facility sent four shipments.
Sempra Infrastructure’s Cameron LNG terminal and the Freeport LNG terminal each shipped four cargoes, while Venture Global LNG’s Calcasieu Pass facility sent three cargoes.
Also, the Cove Point facility sent two cargoes, and the Elba Island terminal did not ship cargoes during the week under review.
Henry Hub down
This report week, the Henry Hub spot price decreased 10 cents from $2.03 per million British thermal units (MMBtu) last Wednesday to $1.93/MMBtu this Wednesday.
The agency said the August 2024 NYMEX contract expired Monday at $1.907/MMBtu, down 21 cents from last Wednesday.
This settlement price for the August 2024 contract is the lowest since trading of this contract began 12 years ago, it said.
The September 2024 NYMEX contract price decreased to $2.036/MMBtu, down 12 cents from last Wednesday to this Wednesday.
The price of the 12-month strip averaging September 2024 through August 2025 futures contracts declined 8 cents to $2.905/MMBtu, the agency said.
TTF averaged $10.70/MMBtu
The agency said that international natural gas futures increased this report week.
Bloomberg Finance reported that weekly average front-month futures prices for LNG cargoes in East Asia increased 21 cents to a weekly average of $12.35/MMBtu.
Natural gas futures for delivery at the Dutch TTF increased 43 cents to a weekly average of $10.70/MMBtu.
In the same week last year (week ending August 2, 2023), the prices were $10.91/MMBtu in East Asia and $8.92/MMBtu at TTF, the agency said.
