EIA said in its weekly report, citing shipping data provided by Bloomberg Finance, that the total capacity of these 25 LNG vessels is 94 Bcf.
This compares to 29 shipments and 109 Bcf in the week ending May 28.
Natural gas deliveries decrease
According to data from S&P Global Commodity Insights, average natural gas deliveries to US LNG export terminals stood at 14.4 Bcf/d this week, down 7.1 percent (1.1 Bcf/d) from last week.
Natural gas deliveries to terminals in South Louisiana decreased 9.6 percent (0.9 Bcf/d) to 8.8 Bcf/d, and natural gas deliveries to terminals in South Texas fell 4.9 percent (0.2 Bcf/d), averaging 4.4 Bcf/d.
EIA said natural gas deliveries to terminals outside the Gulf Coast remained essentially unchanged at 1.2 Bcf/d this week.
During the week under review, Cheniere’s Sabine Pass plant shipped six LNG cargoes, and the company’s Corpus Christi facility sent four shipments.
Moreover, the Freeport LNG terminal sent five cargoes, while Venture Global LNG’s Calcasieu Pass and Plaquemines terminals each sent three cargoes and Sempra Infrastructure’s Cameron LNG terminal and the Cove Point terminal each sent two cargoes.
The Elba Island facility did not ship LNG cargoes during the week under review.
It is worth mentioning that Cheniere recently started planned maintenance at its Sabine Pass LNG export facility in Louisiana, the largest LNG export terminal in the US.
Henry Hub down
EIA said that the Henry Hub spot price dropped 32 cents from $3.14 per million British thermal units (MMBtu) last Wednesday to $2.82/MMBtu this Wednesday.
The July 2025 NYMEX contract price increased to $3.716/MMBtu, up 16 cents from last Wednesday to this Wednesday.
EIA said the price of the 12-month strip averaging July 2025 through June 2026 futures contracts climbed 15 cents to $4.188/MMBtu.
TTF averaged $11.75/MMBtu
The agency said that international natural gas futures decreased this report week.
Bloomberg Finance reported that average front-month futures prices for LNG cargoes in East Asia decreased 16 cents to a weekly average of $12.29/MMBtu.
Natural gas futures for delivery at the Title Transfer Facility (TTF) in the Netherlands dropped 40 cents to a weekly average of $11.75/MMBtu.
In the same week last year (week ending June 5, 2024), the prices were $11.98/MMBtu in East Asia and $11.00/MMBtu at TTF, EIA said.
