US weekly LNG exports drop to 18 cargoes

The US exported 18 LNG shipments in the week ending May 26, while feed gas deliveries to liquefaction plants averaged 10.5 billion cubic feet.

Compared to the last week, natural gas deliveries to US LNG export plants rose by 0.22 Bcf/d as shipments declined by three.

The Energy Information Administration said in its weekly natural gas report that exports decreased due to lower feed gas deliveries into liquefaction facilities in the prior week.

Looking at the weekly shipments, five US terminals dispatched the 18 cargoes during the week of May 20-May 26. The total capacity of LNG vessels carrying these cargoes is 67 Bcf.

This compares to 75 Bcf in the week before and 21 shipments.

In addition, Cheniere’s Sabine Pass plant dispatched seven cargoes in the week under review, while its Corpus Christi plant sent three cargoes.

Cameron shipped four cargoes, while three cargoes left the Freeport facility during the week under review. Cove Point dispatched one shipment.

“The Henry Hub spot price remained within a 10¢/MMBtu range throughout the week, falling as low at $2.78/MMBtu on Tuesday but ending the week on par with last Wednesday at $2.88/MMBtu yesterday—a weekly high,” EIA said.
