Air Products bags Chinese LNG job

US LNG equipment specialist Air Products has secured a contract from Technip Energies to provide its LNG process technology and equipment for the Xi’An LNG emergency reserve and peak regulation project in China.

Last month, French LNG engineer Technip Energies said it had won a contract from Shaanxi LNG Reserves & Logistics for this project worth between 50 million euros and 250 million euros ($55 million-$275 million).

The contract covers the process design package, front-end engineering and design (FEED), and supply of key equipment of a single 0.8 mtpa LNG train.

Air Products said in a statement on Monday its tech will be vital for the train when the plant becomes operational.

Under the agreement, Air Products will supply AP-SMR LNG process technology, as well as the engineering, design and manufacturing of the coil wound main cryogenic heat exchanger for the liquefaction section of the plant.

Air Products will also provide technical advisory services for the installation and commissioning, and performance testing when operational, it said.

The firm did not provide the price tag of the contract.

Aur Products added it will build the LNG equipment at its Port Manatee, Florida facility, which opened in January 2014, and completed a 60 percent expansion in October 2019 to meet the needs of the ever-growing LNG industry.
