The company said in a statement on its website that it held the kick-off meeting on August 19 for what it says is Brazil’s first biomass LNG (bio-LNG) project.
According to Furui Energy, the event was attended by its general manager along with representatives from the company’s other departments, Furui Do Brazil, and executives from “one of Brazil’s leading large-scale agricultural companies.”
Furu Energy said the kick-off meeting marks the project’s official entry into the “substantive implementation stage.”
It also highlights Furui Energy’s firm commitment in expanding its presence in the overseas “clean energy” market.
Furui Energy said the project is designed to process 200,000 cbm/day of biogas, with the core objective of efficiently converting abundant organic waste resources into high-purity bio-LNG.
Leveraging Furui Energy’s biogas purification and liquefaction technology, the project ensures that the final product fully complies with local standards in Brazil, it said.
Furui said the advancement of its bio-LNG project in Brazil is “inseparable from the strong support” of Furui Do Brazil, a company of the Furui Group.
In May 2024, Furui Do Brazil was officially established, further strengthening the company’s localized operations in Brazil.
Eneva project
Furui has been engaged in the region since exporting LNG equipment to South America in 2016.
In June 2025, the company held the signing ceremony for a 300,000 cbm/day natural gas liquefaction project in Rio de Janeiro, according to Furui Energy.
The company revealed in a separate statement in June that it has won the bid for the natural gas liquefaction project of Brazil’s Eneva for the Parnaíba integrated facility.
Under the contract, Furui will provide advanced natural gas liquefaction systems, including a 620,000 Nm³/day gas pre-treatment system, a 300,000 Nm³/day liquefaction unit, heavy hydrocarbon storage, as well as LNG storage and truck loading systems.
Earlier this year, Eneva launched the second small liquefaction train at its Parnaiba complex in the town of Santo Antonio dos Lopes, in Maranhao.
With this, the small liquefaction plant entered full commercial operations.
China liquefaction project
A recent statement posted on Furui Enegy’s website also shows that the company commissioined in July the first phase of its natural gas liquefaction pilot recovery project in Zigong City, Sichuan Province.
This phase (pictured above) has a capacity of 60,000 Nm³/day.
The project adopts an equipment reutilization model by relocating and upgrading the original 150,000 Nm³/day skid-mounted equipment from Jifu well No. 2.
“This approach not only reduces investment costs but also maximizes the value of existing resources,” the company said.
Furi Energy said the commissioning of the new project enhances the recovery and utilization rate of regional natural gas resources.
