China’s Nantong CIMC Sinopacific Offshore & Engineering has delivered a 12,000-cbm liquefied natural gas (LNG) bunkering vessel to compatriot CNOOC.
CIMC SOE handed over Hai Yang Shi You 302 to a unit of state-owned CNOOC on April 28.
The shipbuilder hosted a launching ceremony for the vessel in November last year and the vessel recently completed its sea trials.
The unit of CIMC Enric won this contract worth about 441 million yuan ($61 million) in December 2021.
CCS-classed Hai Yang Shi You 302 is 132.9 meters long and 22 meters wide and has a draft of 11.8 meters.
The vessel features an electric power system and two type C tanks each with a capacity of some 6,000 cbm, and can work on rivers and seas.
It is part of the strategy for the “gasification of the Yangtze river”.
The vessel will mainly serve international ocean-going vessels and LNG-powered vessels on domestic coastal routes, and undertake LNG transfers along the giant Yangtze river, CIMC SOE previously said.
