China’s Nantong CIMC Sinopacific Offshore & Engineering has launched Avenir LNG’s liquefied natural gas bunkering and supply vessel.
UK-based Avenir LNG, owned by Norway’s Stolt-Nielsen and Japan’s NYK, announced the launch of Avenir Allegiance (Hull No. S1124), the second vessel in its latest newbuilding program, in a social media post last week.
This vessel is part of a second order CIMC SOE received from Avenir after it built four vessels for the small-scale company.
In 2024, Avenir LNG ordered two 20,000-cbm LNG bunkering and supply vessels at CIMC SOE.
The ship is the second of the two.
Moreover, in October 2025, Avenir signed a multi-year time charter party with SeaRiver Maritime, the marine transportation affiliate of ExxonMobil, for this vessel.
The vessel is scheduled for delivery in the first quarter of 2027.

CIMC SOE launched the first 20,000-cbm LNG bunkering newbuild in this batch in July this year.
This vessel will serve Vitol under a seven-year charter, with options to extend for up to 10 years in total, and it is expected to join Avenir’s fleet in the fourth quarter of 2026.
With an overall length of 160 meters, a beam of 25 meters, and a design speed of 15.5 knots, the vessels feature a WinGD dual-fuel main engine equipped with iCER technology.
