Chinese shipbuilder Nantong CIMC Sinopacific Offshore & Engineering has launched the third and final LNG dual-fuel liquid ethylene gas (LEG) carrier for German shipping group Hartmann.
According to a statement by CIMC SOE, the shipbuilder held the launching ceremony on May 18 for the 7,200-cbm LEG carrier, GasChem Phoenix.
Such as its two sister ships, the DNV-classed vessel features MAN dual-fuel engine and is about 116 meters long and 18 meters wide.
Also, the LEG carrier has a design draft of 7 meters and a deadweight of about 6,300 tons.
Hartmann took delivery of the first LNG-powered LEG carrier in this series of three vessels, GasChem Fuji, in April this year.
This vessel serves a charter deal with Japan’s Marubeni.
GasChem Services, a part of Leer-based and family-owned Hartmann, expects to take delivery of the second vessel GasChem Alster in summer, and GasChem Phoenix by the end of this year.
