EPS in 400th LNG bunkering operation

Singapore’s Eastern Pacific Shipping has completed its 400th ship-to-ship LNG bunkering operation, as the company’s fleet of LNG-fueled ships continues to expand.

The firm said in a social media post on Monday that the milestone LNG bunkering operation took place in Fos, France.

During the operation, the 15,000-teu LNG dual-fuel CMA CGM Iguacu received LNG fuel from the 18,600-cbm bunkering vessel Gas Vitality while simultaneously handling container operations.

CMA CGM Iguacu is owned by EPS and chartered by CMA CGM. TotalEnergies charters Gas Vitality from MOL.

EPS completed its first LNG bunkering operation in November 2020, the 50th operation in September 2022, the 100th operation in June 2023, the 250th operation last year, and the 350th operation earlier this year.

The firm has a large fleet of LNG-powered vessels, including containerships, tankers, bulkers, and pure car and truck carriers.

EPS previously said that it has more than 121 LNG dual-fuel vessels in total across segments.
