GasLog to take delivery of another Cheniere-chartered LNG newbuild

Greece-based vessel owner GasLog will soon take delivery of another newbuild that will go on charter to US LNG exporter Cheniere.

The 180,000-cbm GasLog Wellington left the Samsung Heavy Industries yard in Geoye on Sunday to start its sea trials.

GasLog expects the trials to complete on May 1 after it would also need to wrap up its gas trials.

The vessel should join the fleet in the middle of June, the LNG shipper said.

Equipped with WinGD’s dual-fuel propulsion, the vessel also features GTT’s Mark III Flex Plus containment system.

GasLog Wellington is the third ship in a series of four that will serve Cheniere under long-term contracts.

The quartet Samsung is building for GasLog includes two 174,000-cbm and two 180,000-cbm vessels. GasLog took delivery of the second vessel in January this year.

The fourth ship and the second 180,000-cbm carrier in this batch is scheduled for delivery in the third quarter of 2021.
